Seems like whenever I hear a Gretch Chrome Over Brass it has that ideal snare sound that I picture in my head. The kit sounds great too.

It's a real wood veneer called Scandinavian Birch finished in high gloss lacquer
mine came with a dip in the shell where the welding point is, resonant head. avoid this crap

Dieter war vor über 40 Jahren für kurze Zeit mein Schlagzeug-Lehrer. Ein super Typ, entspannt, locker und vor allem geduldig und seeeehr freundlich. Seine Erfahrung und maximale Kompetenz schätze ich sehr. Bin dankbar, Ihn kennengelernt zu haben. Denke jeder Drummer sollte - wenn räumlich und zeitlich möglich - seinen Rat bei Setupproblemen einholen und das DrumCenter in seine Lieferantenliste aufnehmen.

No overhead. Only the two mics that you see. This works pretty well.

the SM57 points to the snaredrum center and is about one sticklenght away from the center and one sticklength from the floortom.@@Elizabeth_Postol

I think it's perfect for Jazz as well. This is a very versatile snare and it's very senstive at lower volumes.....
